Move Forward with Confidence and Clarity

People are often fearful of what happens in counselling and that makes it hard for them to take that first step!

At Clearview Counselling, therapy begins by helping you feel safe, respected, and in control. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready! We move gently, together and at your pace.

The first few sessions are simply about getting to know each other and making sure the space feels safe for you, especially if you’ve experienced abuse or harm in relationships. Nothing is rushed, and you’re always in charge of what you share.

Sessions are available in person in Melbourne or online across Australia.

Emma Baxter
Counsellor
M.Couns. GradDip.Counsel. B.Psych.

My name is Emma, and I am a registered counsellor.

I help all types of people improve their lives.

If you are struggling with challenging relationships, depression, anxiety, or PTSD and complex trauma, I can help you.

I also provide trauma-informed counselling for people who have experienced abusive or controlling relationships.

You can see me face to face or online. I’m pretty flexible.

I bring over two decades of experience working in homelessness, family violence and disability services, supporting individuals through significant life challenges.

I hold a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychology and am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). My therapy is integrative and leans towards:

  • Humanistic Therapy – providing a supportive space for deep listening, reflection, and reconnecting with your strengths, values, and sense of self.

  • Somatic Healing - a body-based approach that supports recovery from trauma by working with the nervous system. Reconnect with your body, regulate stress, and cultivate greater calm, safety, and wellbeing.

  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) – helping you make sense of your experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, and create lasting change.

“My role is to walk beside you — helping you find clarity, confidence, and balance again.”
